Condition grading & inspection

Draft — pending counsel review. How VIG grades hardware in the auction and wholesale catalog.

Every device that isn't sold “for parts” is function-tested by our R2V3-certified technicians and is 100% functional. The grade describes cosmetic appearance only — not whether the unit works. All storage-bearing devices are sanitized to NIST 800-88 before sale, with certificates of destruction available on request.

Grade A — Excellent

Cosmetic: Minimal signs of use. No significant scratches, dents, or discoloration; looks like-new to lightly used at normal viewing distance.

Functional: Fully tested and 100% functional. All ports, keys, and components operate normally. Battery health, where applicable, typically [≥ 80% — to confirm].

Grade B — Good

Cosmetic: Light to moderate wear consistent with normal business use — minor scratches or scuffs possible. No cracks; screen free of distracting blemishes.

Functional: Fully tested and 100% functional. Cosmetic wear only.

Grade C — Fair

Cosmetic: Heavier wear — visible scratches, scuffs, dents, or faded surfaces, and possible cosmetic blemishes on the casing or screen.

Functional: Tested and functional for intended use. Any functional caveats are noted on the individual lot.

For Parts / Not Working

Sold as-is for repair, parts harvesting, or certified recycling. May be non-functional, incomplete, or untested. No functionality warranty applies to these lots.

As-is, except the 7-day warranty

Lots are sold as-is based on the grade and description shown, except for VIG's 7-day warranty against misrepresentation and dead-on-arrival defects: if a lot materially differs from its description or arrives non-functional, notify VIG within seven (7) days of delivery. The warranty does not cover cosmetic wear consistent with the stated grade, buyer's remorse, or damage after delivery. See the Auction Bidder Agreement for the full terms.

Inspection, pickup & removal

Manifests and photos are provided so buyers can assess lots before bidding; on-site inspection may be available by appointment. Won lots must be paid and collected (or shipping arranged) within the window stated on the invoice. [Removal deadline and any storage fees — to confirm with counsel.]

This guide is a draft for review and does not yet constitute final, binding terms. Where it differs from the Auction Bidder Agreement, that agreement controls once finalized.
