Refurbish. Redeploy. Recover.
Send VIG your used laptops, desktops, monitors, and mobile. We data-sanitize to NIST 800-88, repair, cosmetically restore, grade, and reimage every device — then return it to your fleet ready to redeploy, or remarket it for value recovery. R2V3 #274644 · Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher.
Most refurbishers only resell. Most ITAD vendors only dispose. VIG does both from one R2V3-certified Dallas facility, under one chain of custody, with one audit trail. Send us a heterogeneous lot and we route each device to its best outcome: returned to your fleet ready to redeploy, or remarketed through our B2B wholesale and auction channels for value recovery. Either way, data sanitization comes first — every device is wiped to NIST 800-88 and a serialized Certificate of Destruction is issued before any repair, cosmetic, or remarketing work begins. The fastest way to start is the request form below: tell us what you have and what you want done with it, and our team replies within one business day with a scope assessment.
A refurbishment partner your auditors will sign off on
Two outcomes, one certified process
Choose Return for redeployment or Remarket for value recovery — or let us assess and advise. Both paths run through the same NIST 800-88 sanitization, the same A/B/C grading, and the same serialized Certificate of Destruction. The fork is about where your hardware goes, not how carefully it's handled.
Data sanitized before anything else
Every storage-bearing device is sanitized to NIST 800-88 before any technician opens it for repair or cosmetic work, and before any device enters the remarketing channel. A serialized Certificate of Destruction is issued per device — the same document we issue on every VIG ITAD job.
Credentials your auditors already trust
R2V3 Certified #274644 (independently audited under the SERI Responsible Recycling standard), ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 registered, and a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. The MAR credential means reimaged Windows devices carry genuine OEM licenses — no gray-market keys, no licensing exposure on your balance sheet.
Graded against a documented rubric
Every device is assigned a condition grade — A (excellent), B (good), C (fair) — against VIG's published grading standard. You receive a per-device graded manifest, so the outcome of every serial number is on paper whether it comes back to you or sells.
A fixed Dallas facility, not a broker
Your hardware travels to 2630 Andjon Drive, Dallas, TX — a real, auditable location, not a logistics broker routing your equipment through unknown third parties. Chain of custody is logged by serial number from intake through dispatch.
Built on the ITAD workflow you know
Refurbishment runs through the same certified intake, data destruction, and chain-of-custody workflow as VIG's full ITAD program — there is no separate, lighter-touch track for refurb assets. Remarketed devices settle by wire, the same as VIG's B2B auction program, with a per-device disposition report.
Six steps, one chain of custody
01 · Intake & logging
Ship to our Dallas facility or schedule a pickup. Every device is logged by serial number, make, and model on arrival, and matched against your packing list. You receive an intake confirmation with your reference code.
02 · Data sanitization
NIST 800-88-aligned sanitization — overwrite for HDDs, cryptographic erase for SSDs, or physical destruction where required — before any other work begins. A serialized Certificate of Destruction is issued per device. This step is never skipped, on either outcome path.
03 · Assessment & repair
Technicians test power, display, keyboard, ports, and battery, then repair or replace components to restore function. Devices that cannot reach a serviceable grade are routed to R2V3-certified recycling — and still accounted for on your manifest.
04 · Cosmetic restoration & grading
Chassis cleaning, display polishing, and label removal scoped to the target grade — we don't over-restore. Each device is then graded A/B/C against VIG's documented rubric, and the grade is recorded in the device record.
05 · Reimaging & relicensing
OS reinstallation with a clean image or your supplied SOE, driver injection, and activation validation. As a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher, VIG applies genuine Windows licenses to qualifying devices. Licensing documentation is included.
06 · Return or remarket
Return path: devices are palletized and shipped back with a graded manifest and Certificates of Destruction. Remarket path: devices enter VIG's wholesale or auction channel at their confirmed grade, and proceeds settle by wire with a disposition report.
Two outcomes, plus reimaging and broad device coverage
Return for redeployment
Best for lease returns, refresh cycles, and redeploying to new hires, branch offices, or remote staff. We sanitize, repair, cosmetically restore, grade, and reimage your devices, then ship them back ready to redeploy — with a serialized Certificate of Destruction and a graded manifest for every unit. VIG does not sell or transfer ownership of return-path devices without your written authorization.
Remarket for value recovery
Best for end-of-life hardware, lease-end surplus, and budget offset. Same sanitization and grading, then VIG lists your devices through its vetted B2B wholesale and auction channels — no consumer platforms, no unverified buyers. You receive a per-device settlement report and payment by wire, with the same Certificates of Destruction for your records.
Reimaging & Microsoft relicensing
Genuine Windows reimaging under VIG's Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher status, plus support for customer-supplied images and driver/SOE deployment. Every reimaged Windows device ships with a valid license and licensing documentation — not a workaround.
What we accept
Laptops and ultrabooks (any brand), desktops and workstations (tower, SFF, all-in-one), monitors (LCD/LED; CRTs excluded), and mobile and tablets (iPhone, iPad, Android). Cosmetically damaged units are fine; liquid damage is accepted for assessment; board-level damage is assessed case by case. Unsure if your inventory qualifies? Note it in the form and our team will confirm.
Refurbishment FAQ
What happens to my data before refurbishment?+
Every storage-bearing device is sanitized to NIST 800-88 before any repair, cosmetic, or remarketing work begins — the same process VIG applies to all ITAD engagements. You receive a serialized Certificate of Destruction for each device, regardless of whether it is returned to you or remarketed.
What is the difference between Return and Remarket?+
Return for redeployment: your devices come back to you sanitized, repaired, graded, and reimaged, ready to redeploy. Remarket for value recovery: VIG lists your devices through its B2B wholesale and auction channels and settles the net proceeds to you by wire. Both include the same Certificates of Destruction and graded manifest. Not sure which fits? Select "assess and advise" on the form and we'll walk through both.
What devices do you accept?+
Laptops, desktops and workstations, monitors (LCD/LED; CRTs excluded), and mobile devices and tablets — any major brand. Cosmetically damaged units are fine, liquid damage is accepted for assessment, and board-level damage is assessed case by case. List your device types in the form and we'll confirm acceptance.
Will reimaged Windows devices be properly licensed?+
Yes. As a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher, VIG applies genuine OEM Windows licenses to qualifying refurbished devices — no gray-market keys and no licensing liability for your organization. Licensing documentation is included with each reimaged device.
How is my hardware graded?+
Each device is assigned a condition grade — A (excellent), B (good), or C (fair) — against VIG's documented grading rubric, after physical inspection and functional testing. The grade is recorded per serial number on a graded manifest you receive, and it determines the redeployment or remarketing outcome.
Do I need an account, and what does it cost?+
No account is required to submit a request. Pricing is scoped per engagement after we review your devices — submit a request and our team replies within one business day with a scope assessment and next steps. There is no commitment at this stage.
